Factory colors , commonly referred to as "Privacy Glass" is an electrical process called "deep immersion" that involves the inner die of automotive glass with dark pigments. The color of the factory is standard on the back of many new vehicles. With the general visual light transmission (VLT) of 15% -26%, the factory window color is installed to provide passengers and private goods of privacy from outsiders, resulting in a privacy glass of its name. Since most countries have a legal limit of about 50% VLT for windows and windshield of the driver, the color of the factory is only applied to the back of the vehicle window to avoid breaking the law.

Benefits

With low VLT, the main benefit of factory color is to provide privacy for passengers and personal belongings. Unlike film glass, the color of the factory, depending on the car manufacturer and year, does not provide the same ultraviolet (UV) protection or heat reduction quality. Film glass offers 99% UV protection against UVA and UVB rays. Factory colors provide protection against UVB rays because UVB rays can not penetrate any type of glass including stained glass.

Deletion

Unlike film glass, the color of the factory is the pigment inside the glass that is installed during the manufacturing process. There is no way to remove color from glass. The only alternative to get the same benefits from window film is to install a film window over the color of the factory. There is clear window film for automotive use that will not further darken the color of the factory. Many consumers try to match the color of the factory to their front windows and windshield when it is legal to do so in their local jurisdictions.
