The European Ford Fusion is a B-segment Mini MPV roof height based on the Ford Fiesta supermini, manufactured and marketed by Ford Europe from 2002 to 2012. It was launched in August 2002.

Ford also used the name "Fusion" prior to the launch of Ford Focus Europe, in communications with contractors working on the publicity element of the launch of the model. Ford did not reveal whether the late change to "Focus" was the result of a noticeable change in its plans, or simply a desire to hide the original name from the press until the company was ready for launch.

In November 2005, the revised Fusion version went on sale. A number of cosmetic changes are introduced: the front and rear lights display new details; and bumpers, side molds and door mirrors are also modified. Next, a new bright color palette is introduced. Inside, the dashboard features a new design, and high quality 'soft touch' material. Display a new analog instrument with a style similar to Mk 2 Ford Focus.

Sophisticated new technology is also available, including power fold mirrors, automatic headlamps and 'safe house', automatic windshield wipers, Bluetooth with voice control, travel computer, MP3 player connectivity and the Electronic Stability Program. In the United Kingdom, the car is available in style, Zetec and Titanium level trim. (1, 2, 3 and '' is the trim level for the original Fusion).

Equipment at entry level 1 includes central locking, and dual front airbags. 2 It features electric heating with electric heating, electric front window, CD player, and AC. The 3 adds wheels, front fog lights and alarms. The model adds a larger alloy and privacy glass. This model was introduced in May 2002.

The no-frills Crossover SUV version of the Fusion called Ford EcoSport is manufactured in Brazil and sold in many Latin American countries. In December 2002, at Top Gear, he won the Most Pointless Car because, as Richard Hammond described, "Ford Fiesta, with a hat."
