History

The factory was built in 1845 on the orders of the De Backer family. During World War II it was part of the front line and took damage. It was restored after the war. In 1967, the municipality bought a factory from the De Backer family and returned it. In later homes built around the factory, reducing visibility and wind catching.

The factory is open to the public once a week on Saturdays.
