The Cavalier Hotel is a historic hotel building at 4201 Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This seven-storey building was designed by Neff and Thompson with a Y-shaped floor plan and was completed in 1927. Most of the hotel's rooms feature ocean views, and all have a private bathroom. The hotel also features dining facilities and opportunities for shopping, as well as facilities such as a swimming pool which is now a common feature of modern hotels.
The hotel was built during a period of prosperity known as the Roaring Twenties, and is a major element of Virginia Beach's development as a resort area. The hotel operated successfully until 1942, when it was ruled by the United States Navy as a training center during World War II. It was returned to its owner in 1945, but the years that were lost wounded the business. The property was used as a private club for a time in the 1950s and 1960s, and was eventually reopened as a hotel.
The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by 2014.
