Ring (formerly Doorbot ) is a global home security company owned by Amazon. Ring manufactures a range of home security products that incorporate outdoor motion-based cameras and doorbells, such as the Doorbell Video Ring, which is featured on ABC's Shark Tank in 2013. Ring Video Doorbell is an intelligent pint device that allows users to monitor and operate the front door, rear and garage from a distance. When the doorbell is pressed, the Ring application initiates a VOIP video call to the connected device, so that the owner can see and speak to the visitor.

Histori
From an early age, Ring Jamie Siminoff's founder was interested in engineering and entrepreneurship: his father owned a steel pipe forging plant for an oil refinery and, using his father's equipment, Siminoff made a humanized mousetrap, a heated blanket and a remote controlled car after school. After attending Babson College and launching and selling two companies, Siminoff created a company concept called Doorbot, which eventually became Ring, understood the security of his home had been compromised because he could not hear the front door bell from his garage. Siminoff modernized its doorbell by adding Internet connectivity, high-definition cameras and motion detectors to enable it to control the direction of the sensor. In 2012, Siminoff founded the Ring and in 2013 released the first version of its product. The ring was purchased by Amazon in February 2018.
