Plantation Island is the census determined place (CDP) in Collier County, Florida, United States. The population is 163 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Naples Island-Marco Island.

Geography
Plantation Island is located south of Collier County on 25Ã, à ° 50? 47? N 81 à ° 22? 6? W (25.846346, -81.368274), along Halfway Creek upstream a few thousand feet from Chokoloskee Bay. Plantation Island near the northwest point of the Everglades National Park and the southwest point of the Big Cypress National Preserve. It is south of Everglades City and north of Chokoloskee via State Road 29.
According to the US Census Bureau, CDP has a total area of ââ0.58 square miles (1.5 km 2 ), which is 0.012 square miles (0.03 km 2 ); 1.90%, is water. From the many canals on Plantation Island, it is a short boat trip to Halfway Creek, across Chokoloskee Bay, through Ten Thousand Islands and out into the Gulf of Mexico. Plantation Island is located within the Critical Area Cemara Besar Negara.

Demographics
In the 2000 census, there were 202 people, 92 households, and 57 families living on CDP. Population density was 344.1 people per square mile (132.2/km ò). There are 158 housing units with an average density of 269.2 sq/sq, mi (103.4/km²). The racial makeup of CDP is 96.53% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race is 3.47% of the population.
There are 92 households where 18.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% are married couples living together, 3.3% have unmarried female households, and 38.0% is not family. 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.8% had someone living alone 65 or older. The average household size is 2.20 and the average family size is 2.65.
In CDP, the population is spread by 14.4% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 21.3% from 25 to 44, 32.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.3% years or more. The median age is 48 years. For every 100 females, there are 104.0 males. For every 100 women age 18 and over, there are 119.0 men.
The average income for households in the CDP is $ 38,750, and the average income for families is $ 45,208. Men have an average income of $ 31,667 compared to $ 30,833 for women. Income per capita for CDP is $ 21,581. Approximately 13.8% of families and 14.6% of the population are below the poverty line, including none under the age of eighteen and 11.4% of those aged sixty-five years or older.
