Cape Coral is a city located in Lee County, Florida, United States, in the Gulf of Mexico. Founded in 1957 and developed as a planned community, the city grew to a population of 154,305 in 2010. History
The history of Cape Coral began in 1957 when two brothers from Baltimore, Maryland, Leonard and Jack Rosen, flew over a peninsula known as Redfish Point, across the Caloosahatchee River near Fort Myers now. Education
Cape Coral continues to develop public and private school systems with high performance standards. Cape Coral is part of the Lee County School District, operated by Lee County Board of Education. In 2009, the Education Board operated 8 elementary schools, 6 medium and 5 in Tanjung.
