" All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Sided Teeth " is a new Christmas song written in 1944 by Donald Yetter Gardner while teaching music at a public school in Smithtown, New York. She asks what grade two classes they want for Christmas, and notices that almost all students have at least one missing front tooth when they answer with lisp. Gardner wrote the song in 30 minutes. In a 1995 interview, Gardner said, "I am amazed at how this silly little song was taken by the whole country." The song was published in 1948 after an employee of the Witmark music company heard Gardner singing it at a music teacher conference.

The song was introduced in 1948 by singing The Satisfiers group on radio show Perry Como, and was originally recorded by Spike Jones & amp; City Slickers on December 6, 1947, with lead vocalist by George Rock. The version reached the top of the pop charts in 1948, and again in 1949. The song has also been recorded by many singers and other players, including Ray Stevens, George Strait, Danny Kaye with The Andrews Sisters, Urbie Green, The Platters, Dread Zeppelin, Kelly's Family, Nat King Cole (reportedly Gardner's favorite version), The Chipmunks, Hampton String Quartet, The Three Stooges and Count von Count of Sesame Street.

In versions by Spike, The Chipmunks (Theodore on lead vocals), and Ray Stevens, the song ends with players shouting the words "Happy New Year !!!"
